I did take a walk down by the river whilst having a break from sitting with mum and thought I heard something carrying on the wind that sounded like chanting and spears beating on shields - pre battle I would think, then later what sounded like horses. This was on the York side, so I would guess Harald Hadrada?
There is also a pub-diner called The Three Cups, which is built on the site of one of the Anglo Danish (I presume) encampments after the battle. It has an early well too.
There is a presence in that building.

You are right christina, the pub does have a presence ( they do good meals as well ) I too have heard the sounds of battle in the surrounding fields !

yep thats the place, the swordsman is haunted as well, I have friends who live in Harton and we visit the 3 cups quite often, I have often heard the noise of battle through the fields around the area, Harold was in his pen ultimate battle at stamford bridge before his death at hastings.
